Well, I have a big appetite, how much can I eat?

There will be 2oz+ tasting portions of Mac & Cheese from TONS of restaurants. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to taste from all variations available. Unfortunately we do not allow containers to take food with home with you whatsoever.  You can visit the Restaurant Line-up to check out who will be competing.

What if I really like one dish, can I eat more of it?

Sure! If you have a favorite you are welcome to go back for another taste, but remember – you are on a mission.

Sweet! I’m in, what do I need to bring?

Please bring your ticket or electronic ticket, your ID, some $$$ to purchase Mac & Cheese Fest merchandise and your appetite!

It may be cold outside, do you have coat check?

Of course! We will make a judgment call the day of the event to provide coat check services.  All cash tips for coat check services will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana.

Will you be selling Mac & Cheese Fest t-shirts this year?

Absolutely!  We accept cash and credit cards.

I love mac & cheese and I would love to share it on my blog. Can I have a media pass?

We love social media influencers, food and online bloggers, but unfortunately we do not provide media passes.

My kids LOVE mac & cheese – can I bring them?

Of course! Anyone 10 years or older may attend the event. You must be 21+ to consume alcohol. All tickets are $65 or $105 each per person regardless of age.  Unfortunately we cannot accommodate infants and strollers.

Do you give refunds if for some unthinkable reason I can’t make it?

Due to Ticketmaster policy, unfortunately we do not offer refunds.

Tons of mac & cheese tastings and 5 drinks is a pretty sweet deal, but where does the money go?

Towards building the largest Mac & Cheese empire the world has ever seen. Okay, that’s only a little true; we plan on creating even tastier Mac & Cheese Fest's in the future, because we’re all about the people like that. Also a portion of the proceeds benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana (RMHC-CNI). The mission of RMHC-CNI is to care for families of children with complex medical needs by providing comfort, compassion and a sense of community.  RMHC-CNI keeps families of hospitalized children together in a ‘home away from home’.  We are proud to share over the past 2 years we have donated a total of $35,000 year-to-date to RMHC-CNI.

Can I buy a ticket at the door?

Only if we are not sold out. I wouldn’t take my chances on this one.  We will announce via our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram account when we sell out for a specific session.  Buy your tickets ASAP!

Will there be ATMs at the event?

Yes. Don’t fret – once admitted to the fest, all tastings and 5 drinks come included in the ticket price, but merchandise (i.e. t-shirts) will be available for extra $$$.

Is Mac & Cheese Fest accessible for those with mobility limitations?

Yes! UIC Forum is an accessible venue if you are a person who uses a wheelchair or another mobility device.

What about gluten free, vegan or vegetarian mac & cheese?

The Mac & Cheese Fest might be a good cheat day (if you don’t have life threatening allergies or debilitating sensitivities, if so PLEASE don’t cheat, as tempting as it might be). Each dish must include noodles and cheese and we cannot guarantee that gluten-free or vegan options will be available.  Please view our Restaurant Line-Up section of our website to review the dishes being served. We try to update the website as soon as possible once we confirm dishes with our participating restaurants. There are always a variety of vegetarian dishes available during the fest and those stations are indicated with a yellow bow attached to the restaurant signage above their booth.

I love mac & cheese, but I don’t drink. Can I get a discount?

Mac & Cheese Fest cannot in good conscience exclude anyone from the potential life changing epiphanies when you try one of the mind-blowing tastes prepared by the most talented chefs in Chicago, but we can’t offer any discounts for non-drinkers. We are happy to offer soft drinks or water if you are so inclined.

I heard you stop serving alcohol 30 minutes before the end of the event, is that true?

That is 100% true.  It's the law!  For the lunch session (12p-3pm), ALL alcohol services stops at 2:30pm.  For the dinner session (6:00p-9:00p), alcohol service will stop at 8:30pm.

Where is the best place to park so I can make sure I am one of the first people through the door?

There is a lot called LOT 5 located at 1135 S Morgan, they charge $10 for all day parking and can hold up to 1,000 cars.  We encourage you to take public transportation, UBER, Lyft or taxi if you plan to take advantage of your drink tickets.
